Midnight in Dongguan

Dongguan is an industrial city located in Southern China, not too far from Hong Kong. Factories of international manufacturers, including Apple and Nike, lie on the outskirts of the city. Your made in China products might be made in here.

The last day of my four-day-stay, I got a chance to explore the downtown and found something which I cannot find in Shanghai.

A man selling sugar cane juice. 2 RMB (30 cents) a cup.

A stick of sugar cane has been squeezed into the machine. The juice goes through a not-so-clean container and comes out from a faucet. Yummy.

Oh no! Puppies are being sold on the street. There is no animal rights or such in this country.

He is sold for 320 RMB (50 dollars). Hope he will find a decent owner.

The Starbucks invasion is conspicuous in China.

A salesman is absorbed in playing a video game. Hey, let me pay for this.

Apple has not invaded here yet. An Apple store like.
